About Safer Crocker
At Safer Crocker, we believe in the ability of communities to work together and address specific challenges that are important to them. We believe that a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment contributes significantly to the sense of fulfillment and pride of all Crocker Highlands residents.
Since our founding in 2016, we have striven to become a catalyst for positive neighborliness, a depository of resources for residents and a forum to brainstorm, identify and implement solutions to safety-related concerns.
Dealing with today’s safety challenges requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks; Safer Crocker emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the Crocker Highlands community to take concrete actions to address important safety issues.

Our Services
Safer Crocker provides the following services
Patrol
This is the primary service that Safter Crocker provides. The Intervention Group will proactively patrol neighborhood streets to deter criminal activity.
Escort
When needed, you can request one of the Intervention Group to accompany you in the neighborhood. A safety escort is intended to be used only in special circumstances and not for regular or routine transfers within the patrol area. To request, call (877)-272-8765
Vacation Watch & Alarm
You can request that the Intervention group look after your home when you have an extended vacation or to respond when your home security alarm is triggered. To use this service, download the respective form and follow the instructions on it:
Our Board
The Safer Crocker board is a group of volunteers that have been a part of the founding group.

Jean-Philippe Kouakou-Zebouah
JP is CFO & COO at a biotech-focused venture capital firm with offices in Los Angeles, Boston, and Fort Worth. He has been living in Crocker Highlands with his family since 2008. You might run into him most mornings while he walks his dog on the Rosemount - Verrada - Longridge circle.
Treasurer
Michael Rizzo
Mike is a retired radiologist from Oakland Kaiser who grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Crocker Highlands in 2002 and, after moving here, happily sent his son to Crocker Elementary, Edna Brewer Middle School, and then Bishop O’Dowd high school. Most days you can see Mike walking his beautiful Doberman, Spike, on the street and along the LHA trail.

Robyn Mohr
Robyn is a real estate broker in the Oakland/Piedmont market with over 45 years of experience. When first moving to Crocker Highlands, the plan was this was home for five years. Thirty eight years later in the same home, we realize that this was one of our best decisions ever!

Terry Galvin Lee
Terry was the Director of Communications for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District prior to her retirement. She acted as the district spokesperson, and her team started Spare the Air, the climate action and other environmental programs in the region. She was also a public information officer for the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. Terry and Chris raised two children in Crocker Highlands, in the house they have called home for over 40 years.

My husband Art and I moved to Crocker Highlands during 1998 with the intent to relocate to a different part of the Bay Area after five years or so. Almost 25 years later, we still call Crocker Highlands home for many of the same reasons others enjoy living in this quaint and historic neighborhood.
I appreciate the fact that I could leave the car at home and walk to complete errands and also visit nearby shops, attractions, and restaurants. I especially like being able to frequent accessible hiking trails located in the hills and among beautiful redwood forests. In a tangible way I decided to join Safer Crocker to do my part in helping to keep our neighborhood safe and charming.

Board Advisor
Richard Moore
Dick retired from AT&T in marketing. He has lived almost eight decades in Oakland and has been a resident of Crocker Highlands for 36 years. Dick was one of the founding members of the Safer Crocker board. While he has retired from the board, he has stayed on as a very welcome advisor.
